Reality CheckThere are some religions that do not allow women to expose their arms and legs to the view of others. Until recently that has meant that they must swim in clothing. New swim wear designed to cover the skin have been brought to market and allow them to swim comfortably and without the weight and restrictions of normal clothing.

Some people might do it to keep warmer, they are lazy or they are training because to be successful at swimming you have to do a course with clothes because it is harder to swim in clothes and if you are out on a walk and someone is drowning you don't have time to change
