Why do Formula 1 racing car drivers get weighed after each race?

As per the FIA regulations, every F1 car must have a certain minimum/maximum weight and this weight is inclusive of the drivers weight. In case of drivers who are tall and well built, the teams may have to adjust the cars features to make sure that the net weight of the car does not exceed the prescribed limits. Hence it is very important to weigh the F1 drivers.

∙ 11y agoAccording to F1 regulations for the 2012 season, cars must weigh at least 640 kg (1411 lbs) at all times. This includes the weight of the driver and his helmet.
After a race, the weight of the driver and his helmet is added to the weight of the car and that total weight must be at least 640 kg/1411 lbs.

∙ 15y agoa f1 driver loses weight during driving becxause they are pushing hard on pedals etc... it hurts to drive like that so they sweat and lose weight every race.

The helmet is comprised of layers made of carbon fiber, a plastic like that used in bulletproof vests, a softer plastic and a covering of flameproof material. Visors are composed of a polycarbonate. The leading causes of death in auto racing accidents are skull and neck fractures resulting from rapid deceleration during accidents. The Head and Neck Support system (HANS) was designed to reduce these whiplash effects. The system consists of a collar that is attached to the safety belt and strapped to the helmet to hold the helmet in place during an accident. Can NASCAR racing teams have more than 3 drivers?
Yes, they can. Racing teams usually consist of one driver per race team. But they can have multiple drivers race each of their cars during the season. If you mean teams per owner, there is a four car team limit in place. That is the most Nascar will allow.
