It's the throwback month. It's the 50th anniversary of the AFL (the precursor to the AFC). Because of this, the teams yesterday wore the original uniforms that they wore in 1960, as did the officials, even the field (diamonds in the endzones, etc). The broncos first game was against the Boston Patriots (at the time). I think they are playing next week in the uniforms as well, but I'm not sure past that.
