Well, the events that are the same are: Floor Exercise, and Vault.
Women do not do the rings or pommel horse because it requires a great deal of strength. Men do not do the Uneven bars because it is hard on their anatomy (having different reproductive parts) to maneuver between bars (high bar and low bar) like the women can. So they stick to the one high bar. Men do not compete on balance beam because a mans sense of balance isn't as good as the females sense of balance. (and it takes more grace to be on the balance beam)

∙ 19y agoI think the reason the women's gymnastics are accompanied by music is because they have a section in their routines that include dance moves. This is mandatory for women but not for men,so in order for the judges to recognize "dance" seqences during each routine there is music and the moves need to "fit" the music.

In mens gymnastis, there are 6 events; floor exercise, pommel horse, still rings, vault, parallel bars, and the high bar. Again, men can specialize in any of these events or compete in the all-around. In rhythmic gymnastics, there are 4 events; clubs, hoops, rope, and ball. Women can specialize in any of these events or compete in the all-around. In tramp and tumbling, there are 4 events; trampoline, synchronized trampoline, double mini trampoline, and tumbling. These gymnasts can specialize in any of these apparatuses or compete them all (however there is no all-around competition) In acro gymnastics, there different events based on who makes up the group.
