They are sold, though rare. Most pro shop professionals will tell you this is because there really isn't a demand for them. Often times you can find a seven pount house ball for use in an alley, but it is much harder to purchase one. This is because for newbies, they usually start them out in a six pounder. By the time they need a new ball or are ready to move up, they can usually handle an eight or nine pounder. This is because children grow so quickly and conditioning them with a six pounder will increase their strenght to throw a heavier ball.
