∙ 16y agoMickey Mantle was the last Yankee ever to don the number 7, wearing it from 1951 until he retired. Fourteen other Yankees wore the number in their career, the last two being Bob Cerv and Cliff Mapes, who wore the number at times during Mantle's rookie season. Leo Durocher wore number 7. Also Charlie (Chuck) Dressen (coach), Tommy Henrich and Tony Lazzeri (1933). -----

∙ 13y agoPitcher Humberto Sanchez was the only Yankee to wear number 77 in their history. Humberto pitched two innings in relief in only 2 games for the Yankees in 2008 and is no longer in the Yankees organization.
