∙ 12y agoAccording to Baseball Almanac, the youngest player to be 'put' into the Hall of Fame was Sandy Koufax, who was 36 years, 0 months, and 21 days old. Second youngest was Lou Gehrig who was 36 years, 5 months, 19 days old.

∙ 14y agopete maravich That was Ed Macauley who was inducted into the Basketball of Fame at the age of 32 in 1960. He played for the St. Louis Bombers, Boston Celtics, and St. Louis Hawks from 1949-1959. Maravich was inducted in 1987 at the age of 40.

∙ 12y agoAlthough he has been elected (2011) but not yet inducted, when Roberto Alomar is inducted on July 24th he will become the youngest member at age 43.
Currently, the youngest inducted member is Cal Ripken Jr. at age 50 (born 8/24/1960). Tony Gwynn is also 50 (born 5/9/1960).
