It's never happened, not when all the teams played in New York. The person who probably came closest was Sal Maglie, who pitched for the Giants, Dodgers and Yankees in New York before ending his career in 1958, four years before the Mets were born and the first year that the Dodgers and Giants were no longer home teams in New York. Others like Maglie who played for all three New York teams were Fred Merkle, first baseman, and the following pitchers: Waite Hoyt, Burleigh Grimes, Johnny Allen and Bobo Newsom. Only Casey Stengel ever suited up for the four New York teams - as a player with the Giants, as a manager with the Yankees and Mets, and as player and manager with the Dodgers.

Yogi Berra.

Berra played for the New York Yankees from 1946-1963, and the New York Mets in 1965. After his field playing days were behind him, Berra went on to manage and coach. Not only did he coach for twenty seasons, but he was the manager for the Yankees in 1964, and during the 1984-1985 seasons. In addition, he managed the Mets from 1972-1975.

Jose Vizcaíno, Darryl Strawberry, and Ricky Ledee are the only Major League Baseball players to have played for all four (one-time) New York teams -- the New York Yankees, the New York Mets, the Los Angeles Dodgers, and the San Francisco Giants.
