Th oldest player to play for the Yankees was Phil Niekro at age 46 Niekro became the oldest pitcher to pitch a shutout in the major leagues, and became the only pitcher to throw a complete game shutout for his 300th win. [This from a Puerto Rico Yankee fan]

As of October 3, 2010 that is Bobby Doerr who was born April 7, 1918. Doerr played 14 seasons with the Red Sox (1937-1944 and 1946-1951) and was elected to the HoF in 1986.

Lee MacPhail was born October 25, 1917 and is the oldest living person in the HoF. His career included being an executive with the Orioles and Yankees and President of the American League for 10 years.
