The leaders of the Russian Revolution were:

• As to the February Revolution, there were no leaders per se, because it erupted spontaneously without planning and without leadership.
• As to the October Revolution, the leaders were Vladimir Lenin, who convinced the Bolshevik Party's Central Committee to take over the government by military force and Leon Trotsky, who planned and led the actual insurrection. There were other prominent members of the Bolshevik Party's leadership who went along with the plan and who had specific assignments, but were not true "leaders" of the coup.

Nicolas II was the leader of Russia during the February Revolution of 1917. That revolution began as general riots and demonstrations in several cities. Those riots did not stop until Nicholas stepped down on March 15, 1917. Thus, Tsar Nicholas II was the leader of Russia during the February Revolution because the February Revolution did not end until after the abdication.

Alexander Kerensky was the leader of Russia's Provisional Government during the October Revolution. Vladimir Lenin and the Bolsheviks staged their coup on October 24, 1917. Kerensky tried to rally Petrograd's garrison to quell the Bolshevik uprising, but it refused to back him. He also ordered Russian army generals to help, but they couldn't do anything in time and Kerensky was forced to flee the country. The October Revolution did not end (even though it was only about 2 days long) until Kerensky and the Provisional Government were overthrown. Thus Kerensky and the Provisional Government led Russia during the October Revolution.

So I did a little research and there were more than one leader during the Russian Revolution. They all served at different times.

There were four leaders during the Russian Revolution: Tsar Nicholas II, Prince Georgy Lvov, Alexander Kerensky and Vladimir Lenin.

The "Russian Revolution" consisted of two revolutions in 1917, one in February and one in October.

Tsar Nicholas II was the leader of Russia at the beginning of the February Revolution.

Prince Georgy Lvov became the leader of the Provisional Government after the February Revolution.

Alexander Kerensky took over as leader of the Provisional Government when Lvov resigned three months later.

Vladimir Lenin staged the October rebellion five months later, overthrowing Kerensky and the Provisional Government and he became the leader through the end of the October Revolution.
