Andy Brown was the last mask-less goaltender in the WHA and the NHL. Gump Worsley wore a mask for the last six games of the 1973-74 season but Brown technically was the last in a 6-3 loss to the Atlanta Flames on April 7th 1974.
He played until the 1976-77 season with the Racers and continued to play bare faced.
Joe Daley also played in the WHA without a mask but did eventually wear one near the end of his carear.
The Last goalie in the NHL to play without a mask was Andy Brown of the Pittsburgh Penguins. Brown played his last NHL game on April 7, 1974 in a 6-3 lost to the Atlanta Flames. However, Brown played for three more years in the WHA, all without a mask, before retiring in 1977.
Andy Brown 1974.... Andy Brown 1974.... my name is JR COYOTE....the question should be who was the last goalie to not wear a mask,or to play without a mask,it was andy brown of the penguins, two other facts,i beleive he at one time held the nhl record for most penalty minutes by a goalie,of course until billy smith came along, the other interesting point was there were 2 goalies that started the season without masks that year, but gump worsley finally grew a brain and wore it sometime throught that season
Some say Gump Worsley of Minnisota NorthStars in 1974. However, he started wearing his mask that year. Andy Brown of the Penguins did not wear a mask the entire 1974 season. Another fact about Brown: I believe he at one time held the NHL record for most penalty minutes by a goalie, of course until billy smith came along.
Yes teams can play without a goalie. It is usually for short amount of times. I.E. not an entire game.
Depending on the seriousness and severity of the hit, and what hit the goaltenders mask, (puck, stick, skate) it is at the referees discretion whether to stop play or not.
In the NHL, this usually depends on the severity of the contact, and the decision to halt play is left to the discretion of the referee. According to international game rules, when the goalie is shot or struck in the head by the puck the game is stopped.
yes you can just print a pic of a mask then go to brats.com
It is impossible.Majora's Mask was one of the games that required one.Sorry:(
No. In hockey, you can substitute without a stoppage in play. In football (american soccer) you need to wait for play to stop.
Yes, as long as they are in the goalie box
You have to own the 360 or PS3 version, go to start menu during game, go down to settings, goalie mode on, or go to be a pro and play as an NHL goalie.
grant Fuhr was by far the best goalie ever to play for the Oilers.
In some Junior Games you play with 8 a-side and a goalie, but in senior hockey you play with 11 a-side and a goalie.
no, the goalie can kick the ball. He cannot pick it up though.
It depends if you want to have a goalie or not. If you want a goalie, you will need just two people (1 goalie and one forward). If you don't want a goalie, just one person. They can serve as a defense, goalie, and a forward. To play an actual game of soccer (one person per position), you will need 4 people (1 goalie, 1 defense, 1 midfield, 1 forward).
Although goalies used to play bare headed, in the modern NHL a goalie losing his helmet results in an immediate stoppage in play.
They are aloud to play in the NHL. One girl did play as goalie. So girls can play in the NHL but the have to be really good.
you play goalie or goal-tend by being the last defender and able to use your hands to make saves anywhere inside the 18.
Impossible to answer!
you block the puck.
The kick which the goalie uses to move the ball up the field while in play is called a punt. The kick which the goalie uses to move the ball up the field while out of play is generally a goal kick, however a goalie may sometimes take a free-kick.
Yes. A goalie can play up to but no further than the center line.
It depends on how you play, some people add 2 points on goalie shots others don't.
