According to mlb.com, Chase Utley of the Philadelphia Phillies was the 34th player in MLB history to hit a home run in his first World Series at bat. I could not find a complete list of those that have accomplished this feat but some of the others that have done it are Troy Glaus of the Angels in 2002, David Ortiz of the Red Sox in 2004, Dustin Pedroia and Bobby Kielty of the Red Sox in 2007, Gene Tenace of the Athletics in 1972, Andruw Jones of the Braves in 1996, and Jose Santiago of the Red Sox in 1967. If anyone knows of a site that has this list, please add it to this answer.
