On August 24, 2007 San Diego Padres pitcher Greg Maddux became the first pitcher to win at least 10 games in 20 consecutive seasons. Cy Young previously held the mark with 19 straight seasons of double-digit wins from 1891-1909.

Maddux is tied with Nolan Ryan for second place behind Don Sutton for most seasons with 10 or more wins. Sutton had 21 such seasons.
