James "Catfish" Hunter was a Major League Baseball pitcher from 1965-1979. He won five World Series championships during his career (A's: 1972, 73, 74) and (Yankees: 1977, 78). He won the A.L. Cy Young Award in 1974 and pitched a perfect game on May 8, 1968.

Hunter died on September 9, 1999, one year after being diagnosed with ALS. He was 53 years old.
