The Queen of the 1965 Orange Bowl was Linda England who was 20 years old at the time. The interesting part of the story is, she didn't enter the competition until 30 minutes before the deadline.

Linda Metz....Penn High School, Mishawaka Indiana class of 1969! Actually, Linda was the 1975 Orange Bowl Queen (Historical Museum of Southern Florida). She moved to Miami, FL in 1972 after completing dental hygiene at the University of Michigan. In Miami, She began working as a hygienist and part time model. The Penn High School graduate entered "Miss Orange Bowl" to try and win a scholarship and to reign over the Orange Bowl game and festivities...NOTRE DAME vs ALABAMA! What a game!!! The FIGHTING IRISH were victorious (13-11) honoring legendary coach Ara Parseghian's last year!!!!! Linda used the scholarship to complete her Bachelor of Arts at FIU. She is still working as a dental hygienist in Florida.
