No, Oklahoma does not have a pro football team. They do have a semi-pro team called the Yard Dogs. Oklahoma has a new pro basketball team called the Thunder. Also, the Oklahoma City Redhawks is the semi-pro baseball team.
The Calgary Flames. Not quite right. The Flames entered the NHL in the 1972 expansion. The Calgary Stampeders have been a pro football team since 1935.
The oldest current teams in professional gridiron football are members of the CFL. Technically the Hamilton Tiger-Cats are the oldest with team history dating back to 1869. However at the time they were known as the Hamilton Tigers. The current team is a result of a merging of the Tigers and the Hamilton Wildcats in 1950. Because of this merger, some debate that the Toronto Argonauts are the oldest pro-gridiron football team with direct team origins back to 1873. The oldest American pro football team of all was the Canton Bulldogs, who were formed in 1905, and played in the formative years of the NFL, but folded in 1926. The second oldest was the Akron Pros/Indians, formed in circa 1908. It is unclear though whether those franchises were truly pro, or only semi-pro before the formation of the NFL in 1920. Of current NFL teams, the Chicago Bears have been in the NFL since its foundation in 1920 (although originally named the Decatur Staleys). Also, the Arizona Cardinals have been in the league since 1920, but were originally the Chicago Cardinals until 1960 when they moved to St. Louis to become the St. Louis Cardinals. They moved to Arizona in 1988 and became the Phoenix Cardinals. In 1994, the name was changed to Arizona Cardinals.
