The first batsmen to make 100 runs in test cricket, uniquely, reached this milestone in the very first international test match. Charles Bannerman was the first person to reach 100 runs in international test cricket, during his innings of 165 against England in 1877 at the Melbourne cricket ground.

The first batsman to make 2,000 run in Test Cricket is Sunil Gavaskar. He played for India. His record is 10,122 runs. He started his career in 1971 and passed the 10,000 mark in 1987.
