this can acctually be a trick question. however the real home run record is not Barry Bonds, Hank Aaron, or babe Ruth. those are the top 3 names that come up usually. the home run record holder is JOSH GIBSON he was a negro league player and never played in the "mlb" in his era. however the mlb joint with the negro league therefore meaning all records and stats from the negro leagues are entered into the current mlb

am i losing you? good cause anyways josh Gibson had something like 810 career home runs. that is the mlb home run record most baseball fans don't realize this. im 16 years old but im considered to be one of the smartest at baseball history. i worked with a man in NY named bob connely for about 5 years, if you call up to the hall of fame with questions about baseball memerobillia hes the name the baseball hall of fame will give you. and whenever he gets new memerobillia in he consaults with me about it as well. hes the master im just the student but we both have almost infinite knowledge on baseball. if you have any other questions relating to baseball feel free to contact me.. and to the people that tried to answer this im sorry i don't mean to make you seem inferior but i think the real answer should be posted

Answerbarry bonds broke hank aarons record of 755 AnswerThe Major League record is 755, by Hank Aaron. He passed Babe Ruth's career record of 714, and Barry Bonds seems to be creeping towards the all-time mark, having passed #700.

Barry Bonds holds the record for most home runs in MLB history, with 762 home runs, and baseball fans believe that Alex Rodriguez will over take that within the next 5-10 years

As of August 8, 2007, Barry Bonds has 756 and Hank Aaron has 755.

Answer: barry bonds

Actually Josh Gibson didn't hit 810 home runs, but almost 800 home runs. Try to study more kiddo.

As of February 2014 Barry Bonds holds the record for most home runs in a season. Bonds had 73 home runs in 2001.

Note that several of those near the top of the list are known or believed to have "juiced", i.e. used performance enhancing substances in violation of the rules - including Barry Bonds, Mark McGwire, Sammy Sosa, and Alex Rodriguez.

Technically, it's Barry Bonds. But with the allegations about steroid use, some say that Hank Aaron is still the rightful holder of that record. I am one of those people.
