the overall NCAA record also resides in the commonwealth: Joe Goldin of Randolph-Macon went 11-of-11 against Emory & Henry on Feb. 16, 1997, in a Division III game.

Ohio State hit the most consecutive three points as a team on 3/7/11, to defeat Wisconsin. They hit 14 in a row...hitting 14 out of 15. Jon Diebler (3-bler!) contributed 10 in a row after missing his first.

What is the oldest collegiate sport?

College athletics in the United States refers primarily to sports and athletic competition organized and funded by institutions of tertiary education (universities, or colleges in American English). In the United States, college athletics is a two-tiered system.[1] The first tier includes the sports that are sanctioned by one of the collegiate sport governing bodies. The major sanctioning organizations include the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). Individual sports not governed by umbrella organizations like the NCAA, NAIA, and NJCAA are governed by their own organizations.
