Well, as far as home runs hit while the player was in the game defensively at second base, there is a tie between Rogers Hornsby of the 1922 St. Louis Cardinals and Dave Johnson of the 1973 Atlanta Braves who both hit 42 home runs.

Johnson actually hit 43 home runs in the 1973 season but one came as a pinch hitter (June 17, 1973 against the Cubs).
