They can cost up to 1 million dollars. 1 million! But some can cost only 75 dollars. Some being rescued from the meat wagon and abused horses cost very little. But for sure, I'm positive, there has been horses for so much that they can be worth more than a rare car or even a house

What are the principles of horse racing?

The sport of horse racing is the competition of horses of the same breed running against each other. They are usually divided by sex, age, and races won. Although Thoroughbred racing is the most common other breeds have racing programs too. The American Quarter Horse is the fastest horse on earth for a quarter mile. The quarter horse registry (AQHA), American Paints (APHA), Appaloosa (ApHA), Arabians, Mules are just a few. The Triple Crown are some of the only races where fillies race against colts. For the Kentucky Derby the sex of the horse does not matter. They are all 3 year olds but by the age of 3 most colts are taller and stronger than the fillies. This is why most of the contenders are colts.
