∙ 12y agoThe San Francisco 49ers earned their fifth Super Bowl title one year before the Dallas Cowboys duplicated the feat. On January 29, 1995 in Miami, the Niners, who won four Super Bowl championships with Joe Montana at quarterback, defeated the San Diego Chargers in Super Bowl XXIX, 49-26. A year later, on January 28, 1996, the Dallas Cowboys won their fifth title with a 27-17 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XXX in Tempe, Arizona. Neither the 49ers nor the Cowboys have appeared in a Super Bowl since.
