Bill Bergen, who played from 1903-1914. He was a Catcher that started with Cincinnati. His career batting average was .170 (3000 Career AB's) and he only had one year with a .200+ Batting Average.

In MLB, for players that had at least 2500 career at bats it is catcher Bill Bergen at .170. Bergen played 11 seasons (1901-1911) for the Reds and Superbas/Dodgers and had career numbers of 516 hits in 3028 at bats. His best season at the plate was .227 in 1903 ... he was under .200 for every one of the other 10 seasons.
