The all time MLB leader in getting hit by a pitch is Hall of Famer Hughie Jennings who was hit 287 times in his career. (1891-1903, 1907, 1909, 1912, 1918). He also holds the single season record for being hit by a pitch (51 times in 1896). Just to add on alittle. Craig Biggio has the modern era record with 285 HBP.

Of all players, the record is held by Craig Biggio of the Houston Astros, who was hit by 285 pitches between 1988 and 2007. Of all current players, the record is held by Jason Kendall of the Milwaukee Brewers, who had been hit 231 times to the end of the 2008 season.
