Many legendary Baseball players performed in the 1920s, but you are probably referring to Babe Ruth who began the 1920 season with the New York Yankees after being sold to the Yanks by the Boston Red Sox. The 1920 season ushered in the era of the home run with the introduction of a livier ball. Ruth led the major leagues with an unheardof 54 home runs that year. Ruth hit over 40 home runs in each of the seasons of the 1920s except for two years when injuries shortened his season. He capped it off in 1927 with his record setting 60 homers, a mark that lasted for over 70 years.
