Lefthander Jerry Koosman, who also was the winning pitcher in Game 2. Koosman pitched 8 innings in game 2, got the win with Ron Taylor picking up the save. Koosman pitched a complete game in Game 5 to win the title for the Mets.

Jerry Koosman won Game 2 of the 1969 World Series, defeating the Baltimore Orioles, 2-1. Koosman pitched six innings of no-hit ball and lasted until the ninth, when he yielded to reliever Ron Taylor. Koosman went on to win the world championship clinching Game 5, giving him a 2-0 Series record.
