The United States have won five Olympic canoeing events ... 3 in the canoe disicpline and 2 in kayak. Kayak - 1) 1988 - Greg Barton won gold in K-1 1000 meters and Barton and Norman Bellingham won gold in K-2 1,000 meters. Canoe - 1) 1992 - Scott Strasubaugh and Joe Jacobi won gold in C-2 Slalom.

2) 1952 - Frank Haynes won gold in the C-1 10,000 meters.

3) 1948 - Steven Lysak and Stephen Macknowski won gold in the C-2 10,000 meters.
