Morrall also started for the Colts in Super Bowl III, a 16-7 loss to the New York Jets.
- Oakland Raiders quarterback Ken Stabler, who led his team to an NFL championship in Super Bowl XI in January 1977, died of colon cancer at the age of 69 on July 8, 2015.

In addition, Denver Broncos quarterback Norris Weese, who relieved the ineffective Craig Morton during the second half of Super Bowl XII, died of cancer on January 20, 1995.
