If a horse is traveling alone in a 2 horse horse box what side should it be on?

If a horse is alone in a 2 horse box it should be on the left side because left sides are always bigger in a trailer or a box. *** Update by chickahorse*** It should go on the left side because of the balance of the trailer. Roads are built to naturally peak in the center and slant off towards the shoulders to help water drain more quickly. If the horse is on the right side (in countries where cars go on the right side of the road), the trailer will lean more towards the right, leading to your trailer possibly tipping over. On the left side of the trailer, you horse is on the "up" side of the road. On the other hand, in the UK and other countries where cars drive on the left side of the road, I suppose that you would put your horse in the right side of the trailer to balance it that way.

How do you evenly load a fifty three foot semi trailer?

You have to put your weight evenly between your trailer axles and your trucks rear axles. You have to know the weight limit of your truck and trailer, it should say in the owner's manual or you can read the weight limit on the tires. The majority of the weight should be on the trailer because if you put most of the weight on the truck the trailer will begin to fishtail. If it is a flatbed trailer and you look along the side you will see that it bows up, you should never load it to were it bows down because it is probably overloaded at that point. Also you should read the owner's manual to learn how to move the axles on the trailer.

Can you Turn a dry freight trailer into a platform trailer?

No. Flatbeds (platform trailers) have different construction, and also have rub rails on the side, both for protection of the trailer, and for securement of the load.

How to choose the perfect livestock trailer.?

Today’s horse enthusiast may find it confusing to choose a livestock trailer due to the wide variety of models, sizes and prices. Just as it is with automobiles, it is often advantageous to shop used. Here are some other tips when shopping for livestock trailers. -Shop by need. If travel is part of the plan then it makes sense to look at livestock trailers that have built in living quarters and side mounted brackets to attach corral panels to the outside of the trailer. If the trailer will primarily be used for short trips locally, look at smaller trailers without living quarters. -Decide what type of trailer is most suitable. If it is a draft horse or other large breed, it will be necessary to look at livestock trailers designed to be much roomier. Some horses also travel better on a slant load trailer than a straight load trailer. Straight load trailers often make a horse feel more confined and horses will often hesitate to step into one. With a slant load the entire inside of the trailer can be opened up and the horse is more comfortable getting in. Then the divider is securely closed after the horse is loaded. -Safety features. A good quality livestock trailer should have good safety features such as padded bumpers, a side escape door, good quality rubber floor mats and safety chains on dividers. Another good feature to have is removable divider, which is essential if there is ever a reason to haul a frightened or injured horse that cannot stand tied up. -Bumper pull or gooseneck. A bumper bull hitch is nice for those who do not want to have a gooseneck hitch installed into the bed of the pickup. An advantage to a bumper pull is it’s easier to hook up to different vehicles. However, it has limited range when turning and backing up. A gooseneck is the hitch of choice for a larger livestock trailer because the range when turning and backing is better. Most dealerships can install this at a reasonable price. By following these tips, it is possible to find a trailer that is a perfect match.
