As of the 2008 season, the NFL record for fewest yards gained in a game by a team is -7 by the Seattle Seahawks against the Los Angeles Rams on November 4, 1979. The Seahawks had 23 rushing yards, -30 passing yards, and 1 first down as they lost to the Rams, 24-0.
