Original longboard are bad quality and the trucks are only good fro cruising and not downhill so steer clear of original. The carbonite is inbetween but I don't recommend it as a first board. Look up rekon longboards. it's cheap and is extremely dureable. It has very simple trucks and bearings. Wear it out. Experiment on it as a first board you know learn. Then get an expensive good quality board. I have a rekon with bone reds an orangatang purple 83a wheels as my practice sliding board. Or if you want get some Vault 78a wheels of ebay for cruising.
