i assume you're referring to the gears mounted on the back wheel. the larger(size) gear is 1, the smaller is 5, meaning 1 is low(relative) gear and 5 is high gear. same with a car.
1992 Chevy s10 jumps out of 5th gear
The fastest gear on a motorbike is typically the highest gear, often referred to as overdrive. This gear has the highest gear ratio and is used for achieving higher speeds on highways and open roads.
There is no drive in a standard transmission car. In most cases you will have reverse, neutral, 1st gear, 2nd gear, 3rd gear, 4th gear, and 5th gear.
1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th & Reverse gear
1st gear down 2nd gear up 3rd up 4th up 5th up N between first and 2nd gear
Well hopefully your not going from 5th gear speeds stright to 1st... but go to a tranny shop and explain the problem
I had a 1989 FJ1200 I bought new. It would go 65 mph in 1st gear and 165 mph in 5th gear. The only reason I didn't ride it faster was at 165 the engine rpm was in the yellow on the tachometer. The bike was still accelerating strongly at 165 and I truly believe it would have gone 180 with another tooth on the countershaft sprocket.
I think you mean the shifting pattern? 1st gear- far left and up 2nd gear- far left and down 3rd gear- middle and up 4th gear- middle and down 5th gear- far right and up reverse gear- far right and down.
The final gear ratio. Exp. 5th gear
That is a shift pattern, only problem is your pattern would be 1 down and 4 up. From neutral position, you click the shift lever down to go into first gear, then each time you shift you will click one position (gear) up at a time until you are in 5th gear.
Chevrolet S 10 five-speed transmission gear ratio is; first gear 1.15, second gear 1.63, third-year 2.37, and the drive gear 2.81. Chevrolet does offer optional gear ratios. I think those numbers above are backwards. It should look something more like this. For the type MW2 5 speed, 1st: 3.96, 2nd: 2.37, 3rd: 1.49, 4th: 1.00, 5th: 0.83. For the type M50 5 speed, 1st: 3.49, 2nd: 2.16, 3rd: 1.40, 4th: 1.00, 5th: 0.73.
Ford 5R55S Automatic 5 Speed Transmission 1st gear 3.22 to 1 2nd gear 2.29 to 1 3rd gear 1.55 to 1 4th gear 1.00 to 1 5th gear .71 to 1 (This is a late model Ford Mustang Transmission) * not to be confused with 5R55E, 5R55N, 5R55W they have different gear ratios
