Supposedly, there are different types of taste buds on different areas of the tongue. It is hard to actually prove this, since your saliva spreads the taste all over. Some scientists feel that this is not true anyway, but you can experiment. Stick out your tongue and dry it off with a paper towel. Then touch a drop of each taste to different spots on your tongue.
