Western, for Work and Pleasure , usually with American Quarter Horses . Western . Work and Pleasure . Mostly with American Quarter horses , some people prefer Arabians for pleasure riding, as they have a lighter bone structure and can run faster past the quarter-mile.

Horses are not for everyone. But for us that love them and have made them our advocation there is nothing better than spending time with a horse. The thrill of riding is hard to explain, it must be experienced first hand to understand. But for these magnificent animals we sacrafice much so we are able to own a horse.
Western horse riding isn't an olympic sport for the same reason that caber tossing isn't. Most Western horse riding occurs in the US and caber toss is a Scottish phenomenon. Both are sports which require strength and skill, but occur mostly regionally. Western riding is in the Olympics-Reining is a part of the Olympics, but it isn't as popular as the English events. It is just as fun though.

Horse breeding in the US is quite popular. Horse breeding can be a hobby or a profession to some people. The US horse industry is a $100 billion dollar industry and a good majority of that money comes from breeding.
Lacrosse, football, soccer, basket ball, swimming, horse riding,
Western. Western is easier, though I prefer English :)
Each riding discipline is equally popular.
