I guess that depends on who you're asking. If you ask the players that are being prosecuted either by a fine or suspension, they're probably going to tell you that, no, they aren't a good thing, If you ask the general public, myself included, I would say that generally, fines and suspensions are a good thing. Athletes should be treated like any other member of society. There should be consequences in place and punishments when laws are broken and ethics are in question.
