According to recent estimates by the NFL Players Union, the city stands to lose as much as $160 million dollars in taxes and job revenue if there is a full lockout next season, but that number seems high and they didn't reveal how they calculated it. By comparison, calculations after the fact reveal that the NHL lockout in 2004-05 cost about $1.6 million in tax revenue, and that local businesses lost around $48 million.

The season tickets for the Pittsburgh Steelers are varied in price depending on seating location. The upper level section runs around $930 while the Legends Club section runs $8000 per ticket.
First of all, let me say that the Steelers rock! My uncle is the offensive coordinator, Bruce Arians! The Steelers aren't going to do good this year though. The single game tickets went on sale sometime around July - August. Here we go Pittsburgh! Six time Super Bowl Champs.
pens stuff is sold at most dick's sporting good stores in or around pittsburgh or you can get it form the PensGear store if you ever go to a game. Im sure you can find it on Dick's webiste. You can also order off the NHL stores page and even check ebay for some deals.
the real question is what's NOT special about pittsburghthere is a ton of history&+ the greatest hockey team around (penguins)And the awesomely awesome Steelers. Plus the Primanti Bros. Sandwiches, the skyline, the people, the accent, theres alot.
The Rooney family is classy. I can't find a reason but at one time they did. They were called the Steelerettes (steelerettes.com) and were a squad chosen from a local junior college. Once the junior college had their own football team, the Steelerettes disbanded. They were the official squad from 1961-1970. The Steelers were actually one of the first teams to ever have cheerleaders. They were named (are you ready for this?) The Steelerettes. How clever. They were basically a gimmick created to take attention away from how awful the team was. The squad only stuck around for about 8 years (61-69) before they were disbanded. As for why they don't have a squad now, can you imagine trying to find a group of attractive women who would be willing to bounce around in short skirts in the middle of December in Pittsburgh? They'd have to be crazy.
