Activity tables for small children can often be found at toy stores that offer a wide array of child toys and furniture items. Toy stores such as Toys 'R US and Walmart have a good selection of activity tables specifically designed for the comfort of kids.
Tables and chairs for children can be purchased from children's retailers such as KidsRooms, or from furniture stores such as Ikea. You can also purchase these items online from retailers such as Amazon or eBay.
Small pool tables can be found at many toy retailers, both instore and online. Toy shops such as Hamleys or Toys R Us have pool tables, and they are also available from Sears, Amazon, eBay, Argos or John Lewis.
One would be able to find a wooden activity train table set that is suitable for young children at any major toy store, such as Toys R Us or even Walmart. A local hobby shop might be able to lead you in the right direction, as well.

A metal bed frame can be beneficial for a child of smaller ages. Many small children find jumping on the bed a fun activity. Therefore, the extra strength of a metal bed frame, opposed to a wood frame may save a child from injury, and a parent from having to buy a new bed frame.

Toys R Us has cheap children table and chair sets. They start as low as 12.00 for the Disney character two chair table sets. They also have plain children's table and chairs for 39.99 with two chairs and ones with four chairs start out at about 120.00.
Try your local Wal*Mart. They sell such products and even can price match if you find one for a cheaper price. The table will surely stand anything your children can throw at it.
Find an activity the child would enjoy. When I was between 6 and 12, it was biking, walking, and swimming. It should be a family activity because young children should be supervised. You may want to stay away from competitive sports as they may cause children to drop out of physical activity.
You could use a tape measure. If your table is small, you could also use a meter stick or something the like. If it's REALLY small...well, I suppose you could use a ruler.
