The Wilson Football factory, in the tiny town of Ada, Ohio, is the last manufacturing facility in America where footballs are made. Each football is still made by hand. The 150 employees at the factory manufacture over a million footballs every year - that's about 5,000 footballs per day. Wilson recently extended its NFL contract through the year 2011. That will mark their 70th year of partnership with the NFL, which is believed to be one of the longest agreements in sports history.
Super Bowl Sundays are especially exciting for the Wilson employees. They're seeing their handiwork in action, because they are the makers of the Wilson Official Super Bowl Game Ball. Every football made for each of the 40 Super Bowls has been been produced by Wilson. In fact, Wilson makes all the footballs for every NFL team, with each team going through about 1,000 footballs every year.
But not all Wilson footballs are made in Ada, Ohio. I have a Wilson 1001 football here that says "Pee Wee" size and "Made In China". I bought it in NC on 11/8/2009 at a Sports Authority for $12.00. This appears to be a legitimate Wilson 1001 football and it wasn't made in Ada, Ohio. It was made in China.
The footballs used by the National Football League are made by Wilson.

Wilson Sporting Goods has made the NFL football for many, many years.
