The Florida Gators were part of the Southern Conference from 1922 until they joined the South Eastern Conference in 1932.
Florida's first entered the SEC 1933. They are currently still a part of the SEC.
The Florida Gators first game for the 2009 season will be on September 5th against Charleston Southern University.

In 1933 thirteen schools (Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, LSU, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Sewanee, Tennessee, Tulane, and Vanderbilt) departed the Southern Conference to form the Southeastern Conference (SEC).
The Gators first season of football was 1906.
