The first documented football game in North America was played at the University of Toronto on November 9, 1861. The game of football was introduced into the United States by a team from Montreal's McGill University when they played against Harvard on May 15, 1874. The game of football in the United States has its origins in that game. Two teams currently in the Canadian Football League, the Hamilton Tigers (1869) and the Toronto Argonauts (1873), were already in existence by that time. The Hamilton Tigers much later amalgamated with the Hamilton Wildcats to form the present-day Hamilton Tiger-Cats. By comparison, the oldest professional team in the US, the Arizona Cardinals, was not established until 1898.
obviously one football! i play on a girl's football league!
Canadian (not just CFL) football was not 'invented.' It developed over many years, just like American football did. Countless numbers of people were involved in the development of both the Canadian and American games.
The quarterback with the most pro football passing yards is Damon Allen (brother of NFL great Marcus Allen), with 72,381. Allen played from 1985 to 2007 in the Canadian Football League, a pro league that has been around since 1957.The QB with the most career passing yards in the NFL is Brett Favre with 61,655 as of the 2008 season.
Grey Cup
No. Game is forfeited.
In my opinion is that they won't and if they do it will only be released in Canada.
probably not because if one team forfeited, the other team would take advantage of it
They are not forfeited they are either won, drawn or lost
In 1967 Bob Richardson, with the Hamilton Tiger Cats, lead the Eastern Division of the Canadian Football League in interceptions with 8 interceptions. The league leader in 1967 played in the Western Division (name? where they played one more game than they did in the Eastern Division) and on his last game he made his 9th interception.
National Football League Kickoff game was created in 2002.
In Canadian football, a team has only three downs to make a first down. That's why Canadian football is a "wide open" game, unlike the more static game that's played in the US.
The Arena Football League was first started from an idea of an indoor football game. The first game was played in 1987. The first test game was played in Rockford Illinois.
Ottawa QB J.C. Watts won the MVP despite losing the game.
