A free throw is a free shot (shot at the free throw line) awarded for a few circumstances. If a player is fouled while shooting (or the fouling team is over the foul limit), then the player will shoot two or three free throws depending on where they were standing when they shot the ball. A free throw is also awarded to the best free throw shooter when the other team receives a technical foul.
a throw in, in soccer is awarded when the ball is out of bounds but only on the side lines
The only way a player is awarded 3 free throw shots is if the player is fouled in the act of shooting a 3 pointer. Otherwise, the number of free throw awarded (maximum of 2) would be determined by number of team fouls.
That is called a foul or 'personal foul'.
You can shoot anyway your coach will let you. If it goes in your team is awarded 1 point and you get credit for 1 free throw. If you miss you get a 0 for 1 attempt.
never unless you are looking for a free throw then that is when you are fouled shooting or the other team has 7+ fouls and you shoot 1 and 1
