Jeff Gordon first became interested in sprint cars when he was 13 years old. The problem at the time was that you had to be 16 years old to race them. Jeff's family appealed to the insurance companies and he was allowed to race in the All Star Florida Speedweeks. Due to his success, the family moved from California to Pittsboro, Indiana so Jeff could learn in sprint car country.
In NASCAR, he started in 1992 (at the Hooters 500 in Atlanta). He raced go-carts when he was a child. His first full season was 1993.
