Ummm....Nop lost by 1.0 seconds!
Swimmer Grant Hackett has been in three Olympic Games. His first was at Sydney in 2000 where he fought a virus to finish seventh and eighth respectively in the 200 m and 400 m. However, he rallied to win Gold ahead of favourite Kieran Perkins in the 1500m. Hackett's second Olympics was at Athens in 2004, where he again won the 1500m, swimming with a partly collapsed lung as a result of illness. At the same Olympics, he also won silver in the 400 m (behind Ian Thorpe), but did not do as well in the 200 m and 4×200 m relay - not surprising, given his physical condition. Hackett tried for a third Gold at Beijing in 2008, but had to settle for Silver following a surprise finish from outsider Tunisian Oussama Mellouli.
