When a penalty corner is taken the defensive team must follow these rules: * Up to 5 members of the team (incuding the goalie if there is one) may be behind the backline and at least 5 metres from the player injecting the ball. * the remaining 6 members of the team must be behind the centre line The attacking team proceeds with 1 player pushing/hitting out from the backline inside the circle and at least 10 metres from the goal, with all remaining attackers outside the circle.

When players foul in their own penalty area, a penalty is given to the opposing team. The ball is put on a spot twelve yards away from goal and one player from the opposing team will try to score. Also, in some tournaments, if a game is drawn, penalties will be taken from both teams. The team which scores more penalties is the winner.
