Mintonette is the first name of the volleyball...afterwards a man noticed the game and called it volleyball (originally spelled as Volley ball)...
Do a timeline of volleyball and when it was changed and when the supplies were changed.
He is Mr. Alfred Halstead who was preffered to changed mintonette into volley ball. Then after a years, it becomes one word called as VOLLEYBALL

Volley means to keep something off the ground. In volleyball the ball is not allowed to touch the ground. So essentially volleyball "keep the ball off the ground". I hope this helped. :)
