Well, working on your top half of your body is just as important as working the lower half. you want to do:
Bench press
Squat
Bi/Tri Curls
calf raises
I highly recommend doing a program called P-90X. It's the best.
If you are a Basketball player then any type of Weightlifting isn't the best idea, go for more stamina work and maybe get on a rowing machine.
Smaller basketball players will do more running and agility workouts, medium sized players will do a mix of running and weight lifting, and larger players will do mostly weight lifting.
Do suicides its a basketball drill that builds lung strength as well as leg muscle and speed/ agility just goolge suicide basketball drills
