The 1969 CITGO "Famous Baseball coin collection" was a collection of 20 Bronzed colored coins with raised images of baseball players, commemorating the centennial of baseball. A CITGO gasoline promotion, You could get a single coin with a fill-up or pay 25 cents if bought separately. The 20 coin set could be inserted into a cardboard backing for display. On the back of the display there is a short bio with stats of each player.
The 20 players include: Ron Swoboda, Hank Aaron, Stan Bahnsen, Rusty Staub, Willie Horton, Frank Howard, Jerry Koosman, Richie Allen, Jim Lonborg, Jim Fregosi, Denny Mclain, Mel Stottlemyer, Dave McNally, Willie McCovey, Jim Bunning, Joe Torre, Ron Santo, Rico Petrocelli, Harmon Killebrew, and Pete Rose.
