Ryan Bedwell Vs. Nathan Olney

8 hours 57 mins

won by Olney 7-6 (10/8) 7-6 (15/13) 6-7 (7-9) 6-7 (21-23) 28-30

both players are notorious for serve vollying but on this ocasion the slice backhand was a faviroute for both players

the match was at NWRTC 5th of March 2007 wrexham box league.

UPDATE UPDATE

I don't know what this crap above me is, but this is clearly from like 1990 or something. The longest ATP tennis match has now been changed to John Isner vs. Nicolas Mahut. This was in Wimbledon 2010. I don't have much info on the match other than the fact that Isner won, they played for 3 days total, both got awards, and the umpire almost wet his pants continually sitting there. :)

If you want statistics, it's a famous match and I'm sure that you'll find info on it on other informational websites.

The longest tennis match in history started Tuesday, June 22 and ended Thursday, June 24 at Wimbledon in 2010. John Isner of the USA beat Nicolas Mahut of France, 70-68, after a record-breaking 11-hour, 5-minute match. The match had to be postponed two nights when the sun went down and the players were still tied.

The previous record for the longest match in tennis history was 6 hours 33 minutes, at the French Open in 2004.

There is no way of knowing how long the longest tennis match ever was, but the longest match in recorded history was the 2010 Wimbledon match between Isner and Mahut.

The match set several tennis records, including:

  • Longest match (11 hours, 5 minutes).
  • Longest set (the fifth set required 8 hours, 11 minutes).
  • Most games in a set (138 in the fifth set).
  • Most games in a match (183).
  • Most aces in a match by one player (Isner, 113).
  • Total aces in a match (Mahut's 103 aces, the second highest number by a player in a match, brought the total to 216).
  • Consecutive service games held (168: 84 for each player).

Ha. You just missed it the record was set about 15 minutes ago. It was a match between John Isner (USA) and Nicolas Mahut (France). The game was played at Wimbledon on the 23rd of June 2010 and was 10 hour long. The game was called off until the next day (tomorrow) because of an argument between the players over wether the ball was in or out.
