Yankees regular starters in 1963: 1b - Joe Pepitone 2b - Bobby Richardson SS - Tony Kubek 3b - Clete Boyer OF -Roger Maris, Tom Tresh & Hector Lopez C - Elston Howard Mickey Mantle was hurt much of the year with a broken foot and played in only 52 games. Yogi Berra, at age 38, caught in only 35 games. Others included OF Jack Reed and Johnny Blanchard, infielder Phil Linz, Harry Bright joined the team in a trade during the season and played 35 games at 1B, and 12 games at 3b. Pedro Gonzales was in 7 games at 2b, Dale Long, 2 at 1b ad Jake Gibbs, caught one game. Regular starting pitchers were Whitey Ford, Jim Bouton, Ralph Terry, Al Downing and Stan Williams, and the staff also included Hal Reniff, Bill Stafford, Bill Kunkel, Marshall Bridges, Tom Metcalf, Luis Arroyo and Bud Daley who had a sore arm and pitched in only one game. Steve Hamilton joined the team during the season in a trade and appeared in 34 games all in relief, but had a 5-1 record, with 5 saves.

The Yankees regular starters in 1967 were: 1b-Mickey Mantle, 2b-Horace Clarke, SS-Ruben Amaro, 3b-Charlie Smith, LF-Tom Tresh, CF-Joe Pepitone, RF-Steve Whitaker and C-Jake Gibbs. The only other player to play in more than 100 games for the Yanks that year was outfielder Bill Robinson.

In 1968, Tom Tresh replaced Amaro at SS, Bobby Cox replaced Smith (who was injured)at 3b, Robinson became the regular RF, replacing Whitaker, and Roy White replaced Tresh as the LF. Andy Kosko played in 95 games as an OF and another28 games at 3b. No other player played in at least 100 games for the Yankees in '68.

By the way, the Yankees finish fourth in the AL in '67 and fifth in'68.
