The Four Ball Rally was a quasi-legal race from Boston to San Diego. Its complete name was the Michael A. Preston Memorial Four Ball Rally in commemoration of its founder who was murdered prior to its first event. It was run from 1981 to 1984. In the history of its running, no accidents with other cars occurred, although many tickets were received by people that particiapted. The event was "invitation only", and generally was limited to race car drivers, stunt drivers, and others with similar experience. This race was done in the same manner as the Cannonball Run, which was similar, starting from the Lock, Stock & Barrel in Darien, CT. The Cannonball Run was last held in 1976.
